A new “RamSelect” website was launched on the 27th July 2015. This website allows anyone to rank sale rams based on their own breeding objectives and the current ASBVs for each ram.
The user chooses the breed, stud, type of sale and location of the sale. They then set their own breeding objective through the amount of emphasis to be placed on each trait. The program then ranks the available rams based on this information. If internet access is available the website can be accessed via smart phone, tablet or computer.
(Stud breeders need to ensure their sale rams are listed on the Sheep Genetics website – this includes private treaty as well as auction sales)
